Note for the site owner: This is a customary starter policy that reflects how the app actually works. Replace every [bracketed] placeholder with your real details and have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before launch. It is not legal advice.

This Privacy Policy explains how [Company Legal Name](“NoPaperCard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use nopapercard.com and our digital business card services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and a password (or a Google/Apple sign-in identifier if you use social login).
  • Card content. The information you choose to put on your card — such as your title, company, phone number, website, social links, photo, bio, and any custom HTML you add.
  • Lead and contact submissions. When a visitor submits the lead form on your public card, we collect the details they provide (such as name, email, phone, and message) and make them available to you.
  • Payment information. Subscriptions and orders are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles payment data under its own terms. We retain a customer/subscription identifier and your plan status.
  • Usage and analytics. We record card views and interaction events (for example QR scans, contact saves, and link clicks) so you can see how your card performs. We may also collect standard log data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps.
  • Cookies. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. See “Cookies” below.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your cards.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions, and fulfill orders.
  • To show you analytics about your cards and deliver leads to you.
  • To communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your account and card data.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Netlify — application hosting and content delivery.
  • Google and Apple — optional social sign-in and digital wallet passes, if you use them.

We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Note that anything you publish on your public card is, by design, visible to anyone who has the link.

4. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to authenticate you and keep your session active. We do not use these cookies for advertising. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, but the Service may not function properly without the essential ones.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete cards and leads from your dashboard, and you can request deletion of your account by contacting us. We may retain certain records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as accounting and fraud prevention.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [privacy@nopapercard.com]. You can also update most of your information directly in your dashboard.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA. [Confirm with counsel which frameworks apply to your business and add the required disclosures.]

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We operate from [your country/region] and may process information in other countries. By using the Service you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
